During my time at Clemson, I have had the opportunity to take classes that have allowed me to go in-depth on the French language and culture, business, economics, engineering, and more.

French

FR 1010 – Elementary French

Introductory course into French-speaking and culture. This class utilized many mediums to teach basic French grammar/vocabulary as well as culture

FR 1020 – Elementary French

This course built upon the basic principles taught in FR 1010, expanding on the grammar and cultural points discussed in FR 1010.

​

FR 2010 – Intermediate French

This course was built upon the basic principles taught in FR 1010/1020 and included more advanced aspects of French literature and prose.

​

FR 2020 – Intermediate French

In this class, we continued learning French diction and prose as well as more advanced literature and writing.

​

FR 3050 – Intermediate French Conversation and Composition I

This course, taught completely in French, stressed developing our speaking abilities and conversation, and used written assignments to strengthen our French diction.

​

FR 3160 – French for International Business Majors

This course, taught completely in French, covered French business practices, vocabulary, and how to communicate effectively in the French business world. In this course, we also prepared to take the Les Française des Affaires Diplôme de Français Professionnel B2 exam.

​

FR 4160 – French for International Business Majors II

This course is currently in progress. It expands upon the previously established language learning for French business and practice. It expands on the idioms and customs to engage in international marketing and business in France.

 

FR 4120 (MONT 3151 – University Paul Valery Course – L’Histoire du Cinéma Jusqu’à 1920) – French and Francophone Cinema

This course was taken abroad at the University Paul Valéry in Montpellier and covered the history of cinema until the 1920s. This course was taught completely in French and with native French students. The Clemson course equivalence is FR 4120.

FR 3080 (MONT 3014 – French Linguistics) – French Linguistics I

This course was taken abroad in Montpellier with the University of Minnesota and was taught completely in French. This course covered the French phonetic alphabet and the correct pronunciation of the French language phonetically. We practiced writing in French phonetically and analyzing passages of text. The Clemson course equivalence is FR 3080.

MONT 3301 – French Grammar and Methodology

This course was taken abroad in Montpellier with the University of Minnesota and was taught completely in French. This course covered all of the main grammar points in French and furthered my ability to speak and present in French. French culture, particularly in the south of France, was covered.

​

FR 3120 – Writing in French I (MONT 3024W – French Literature: Future King)

This course was taken abroad in Montpellier with the University of Minnesota and was taught completely in French. In this course, we read Le Conte du Graal by Chrétien de Troyes and wrote multiple essays in French analyzing literary elements and themes present in the novel and in medieval French literature. The Clemson course equivalence is FR 3120.

LAIB 4000 – Language and International Business Internship (IP)

This course, partly taken abroad during my internship at L’École de Deuxième Chance in Montpellier, focuses on reflecting on my experience abroad working in a French school and work environment through a 10-12 page reflection and presentation in French.

BIOL 1030 – General Biology I

This course focused on the function and development of cells, cellular activity, and genetics with the inclusion of real-world examples and problems.

​

BIOL 1050 – General Biology Laboratory I

This course introduced and expanded on laboratory techniques and procedures, scientific investigative techniques, and data and result analysis from the results obtained from investigations performed in class. This course was taken concurrently with BIOL 1030.

​

BIOL 1040 – General Biology II

This course built upon the principles introduced in BIOL 1030. The topics covered included human anatomy and physiology, plant anatomy and diversity, and ecology.

​

BIOL 1060 -- General Biology Laboratory II

This lab expanded upon the principles established in BIOL 1050 with a focus on the use of biological laboratory equipment, problem-solving, and analysis. This course was taken concurrently with BIOL 1040

​

CH 1010 – General Chemistry

This course covered elementary chemistry topics such as chemical symbolic representation, equations, and their application in real-world problems.

​

CH 1011 – General Chemistry Lab I

This course was taken concurrently with CH 1010. This lab covered correct laboratory procedures and techniques, how to correctly record and analyze findings, and how to present information and data in an efficient manner.

PHYS 1220 – Physics with Calculus I

This course covered the major principles of Physics, such as kinematics, vectors, laws of motion, etc., with the use of calculus in problem-solving and explanation.

​

PHYS 1240 – Physics Laboratory I

This course introduced and expanded on topics covered in PHYS 1220 with an emphasis on physical experimentation. Experiments focused on mechanical rotation and oscillation. This course was taken concurrently with PHYS 1220.

​

PHYS 2210 – Physics with Calculus II

This course expanded upon the principles established in PHYS 1220 with an emphasis on thermodynamics, electrical currents, frequencies, and magnetism.

​

MSE 2100 – Intro to Materials Science

This course introduced and expanded upon the principles of materials science from an engineering perspective. Topics included the relationships between the composition of various materials and how they interacted with various thermal, chemical, and mechanical elements.

​

MATH 1060 – Calculus of One Variable I

This course covered analytic geometry, an introduction to derivatives and integrals and their application to real-world problems, and logarithmic problems. This class was taught with a focus on engineering disciplines and the application of these topics to physics problems.

​

MATH 1080 – Calculus of One Variable II

This course expanded upon the principles covered in MATH 1060 and their implantation in the modeling of problems and structures in engineering. Integrals, integral application techniques, and derivatives were some of the topics covered.

​

MATH 2060 – Calculus of Several Variables

This course covered techniques on how to solve problems with 3 or more variables, vectors in the three-dimensional space, and multiple integrations.

​

ENGR 1020 – Engineering Discipline & Skills

This course focused on building the foundations necessary to solve engineering problems in a team setting. In this course, spreadsheets, data analysis, and a variety of modeling techniques relevant to engineering were covered.

​

ENGR 1410 – Programming & Problem Solving

This course focused on the use of MATLAB to solve and form various engineering problems. In this class, how to interpret and write programs within MATLAB and interpret results was stressed.

​

ENGR 2080 – Engineering Graphics & Machine Design

This course was an introduction to engineering in the use of graphics and machine design. This course focused on the use of SolidWorks and covered the variety of tools and techniques used to create complex and detailed machine and part blueprints.

​

INNO 2990 – CEDC: Hydropower for Cange

In this course, groups of students studying engineering at Clemson, under the guidance of licensed and practicing engineers, focused on the creation and implementation of various humanitarian projects to help the people in Cange, Haiti. I worked with a group that focused on utilizing a major water source to generate power where we created an itemized cost analysis and wrote a grant proposal to Schneider Electric.

ME 2000 – Sophomore Seminar

This course focused on covering the various aspects of the mechanical engineering program, the various career paths available, and featured various presentations from former students and current practicing engineers regarding their careers and experiences.

MGT 2010 – Principles of Management

This course covered the basic principles of management in today’s economic environment. The importance and proper management protocols were also discussed.

LAIB 1270 – Introduction to Language and International Business

This course covered the utility of international business, potential career opportunities, and the relevance of international business in our world today. Taken as a pass/no pass only.

​

MKT 3010 – Principles of Marketing

This course covered the basic principles of how products and services are priced, produced, and promoted to consumers.

​

ACCT 2010 – Financial Accounting Concepts

Basic financial accounting principles were covered as well as how to interpret and analyze business financial statements. We also covered accounting record-keeping.

​

MKT 3020 – Consumer Behavior

This course looked at marketing from a behavioral standpoint. We examined how consumers behave and how to effectively market products to consumers based on statistical data and observations.

​

ENGL 3040 – Business Writing

In this course, we covered how to communicate effectively and professionally in business situations. We went over the types of documents frequently used in the business world, how to properly write them, and how to properly deal with various situations.

​

MKT 4270 – International Marketing

This course went over the principles of marketing internationally and how to effectively establish business relations in other countries and cultures from a marketing standpoint.

​

MGT 4230 – International Business Management

This course covered the complexities of implementing and managing businesses internationally. Topics including exporting, importing, and foreign investment were covered.

​

ECON 2110 – Principles of Microeconomics

This course covered the basic principles of microeconomics including an overview of supply, demand, international trade, monopolies, etc. This course applied these concepts to explain consumer behavior and economic trends.

​

ECON 2120 – Principles of Macroeconomics

This course covered the factors that affect economic performance overall. Topics covered included inflation, unemployment, and factors that lead to economic growth/decline.

​

ECON 3140 – Intermediate Microeconomics

This class expanded upon the principles established in ECON 2110 with an emphasis on varying market conditions and how they affect the supply and demand of products/services.

​

ECON 3020 – Money and Banking

This course covered concepts of monetary policy, its problems, and its implementation in the economy. We covered historical attitudes towards monetary policy, inflation, and the function of money and banking.

​

ECON 3100 – International Economics        

This course covered the reasons for international trade, how international trade is conducted, exchange rates, and the international legal environments that affect trade.

​

ECON 4100 – Economic Development (IP)

This course, currently in progress, covers the reasons for human development and expansions from an economic viewpoint. The questions of why certain areas are more developed than others and how human behavior has affected economic development are explored.

​

ECON 4120 – International Microeconomics (IP)

This course, currently in progress, expands further upon the principles learned in ECON 3140 and focuses on how international economies are linked as well as the effects of trade and barriers to trade in the world economy.

POSC 1020 – Intro to International Relations

This course covered the basic principles of global politics, the reasons why conflict among and within nations occurs, and the roles of international institutions and laws.

PSYC 2010 – Introduction to Psychology

This course examined the study of human behavior from a biological perspective. Elements of biology and social phenomena that affect human development, learning, and institutions were explored.

​

ITAL 1010 – Elementary Italian

This class went over the fundamentals of Italian grammar, vocabulary, and conversation. Key Italian cultural notes were covered as well.

​

STAT 2220 – Statistics in Everyday Life

This course examined the role of statistics in a variety of areas from politics, to sports, and medicine.

​

ASL 1010 – Elementary Sign Language

This course covered the fundamentals of American Sign Language, its history, and the Deaf Community and culture.

​

MUSC 3130 – History of Rock and Roll

This class went over the history of modern rock and roll and how it has developed from its beginnings in the 1950s. The social and political influences in the genre were explored and expanded upon.

​

FIN 2010 – Introduction to Personal Finance I

This course provided a financial overview focusing on aspects of budgeting, credit, loans, etc. and the importance of being financial literate.

​

POSC 1010 – American National Government

This course covered the history and aspects of the United States government. How it functions and its importance was discussed.

​

COMM 1500 – Introduction to Human Communication

This course focused on developing public speaking abilities through public speaking assignments and how to communicate effectively to large groups of people.

​

PSYC 3830 – Abnormal Psychology

This course delved into the reasons, terminology, and classification of various mental health conditions affecting people today.

​

ENGL 2120 – World Literature

This course covered literature that explored the history of racial colonialism in the Americas and parts of Africa. We read multiple literary works covering this topic, however, we focused on Waiting for the Barbarians by J.M. Coetzee and Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe.

​

SOC 2010 – Introduction to Sociology

This course covered the fundamentals of sociology and human behavior. We examined social groups, societies, and organizations that shape the world we live in.

​

LANG 4990 – Language Portfolio (IP)

This course, currently in progress, focuses on compiling and presenting all of the work completed during my time at Clemson and my experience while abroad.
